Ways to use it
- Trip planning: spin for the month of your next day out or holiday, then plan around it.
- Birthday game: everyone whose birthday is in the month that comes up does a forfeit or wins a point.
- Saving challenge: spin and set aside a small fixed amount for that month's treat.
- Writing prompt: describe the place you live in that month, using all five senses.
Learning the months
Spin, then answer: which month comes before it, which comes after, and how many days does it have?
April, June, September and November have 30 days. February has 28, or 29 in a leap year. All the others have 31. The old rhyme starts "Thirty days hath September", and the knuckle trick works too: make two fists, and every knuckle is a 31-day month.
Spin a whole date
Spin a month here, then use the number wheel, changed to 1 to 31, for the day. If you land on a date that does not exist, like 31 April, spin the day again. For a day of the week instead, use the day of the week wheel.
