Information We Collect
Spin-Wheel.org does not ask for your name, your email or an account. The names and options you put on the wheel stay in your browser. They are not sent to us, except in the cases below, which only happen when you use that feature:
- Auto-fill: the short description you type (for example "tech conference prizes") is sent to our server so it can suggest names and a wheel theme.
- Spin counter: each spin sends a request that adds one to the public total of spins. It does not include what was on the wheel or who won.
- Share links: a shared wheel link carries the wheel's items inside the link itself, so anyone you give the link to can see them.
Cookies and Analytics
We use your browser's local storage to remember your answer to the cookie banner and whether you closed the "install app" prompt. Your wheel is not saved between visits; keep a share link if you want it back. You can clear local storage at any time through your browser settings.
Cookies and Tracking
Two Google scripts load on this site, and both can set or read cookies. Third parties, including Google, may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers to collect information.
Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics (property G-ZGH42PM553) to see how visitors use the site, such as which pages are visited, how often and from which sites people arrive. It only loads if you press Accept on the cookie notice; press Decline and it never loads. Learn more at: Google Privacy & Terms.
How Google uses your data: When you use our site, Google may collect and use information about you as described in their privacy policies. To learn more about how Google uses data when you use our site, please visit: How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps.
Opting out: You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. The site shows no ads and does not load any advertising scripts.
Third-Party Services
- Vercel hosts the website and serves its pages. Like most hosts, it handles standard request data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the site.
- Supabase runs our database and server functions: the spin counter and auto-fill. To stop abuse, these functions record your IP address and the time of each request for rate limiting.
- An AI model provider receives the auto-fill description you type, through our Supabase function, to generate names and a theme. It does not receive your IP address from us.
- Google provides Analytics, described above.
Children's Privacy
Spin-Wheel.org does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Our service can be used by anyone without providing any personal information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)
If you are a resident of the European Union, the UK or California, you have certain rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Access: Request access to any personal data we hold about you
- Right to Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
- Right to Opt-Out: Opt out of analytics with your browser settings or Google's opt-out add-on
- Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to Data Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format
The only personal data we hold ourselves is the IP address in our rate-limit records. Anything kept in your browser you can remove by clearing local storage. For Google Analytics data, visit Google's Privacy Policy.
International Data Transfers
Our hosting provider (Vercel), database provider (Supabase), AI model provider and analytics provider (Google) may process data in countries outside your own. By using the Service, you consent to your information being transferred to these countries, which may have different data protection laws.
Data Retention
Anything in local storage stays in your browser until you clear it. The spin counter is a single running total with nothing personal in it. Rate-limit records hold an IP address and a time and are used for nothing else. Google keeps Analytics data according to its own retention settings and privacy policy.
